I would like to do more integration regarding my sessions with my guide. My former guide Sarah never told me that she no longer worked there so I felt confused on who my guide was going to be and I had to find that out all by myself. But everything got settled when Mindbloom support told me to pick a new guide. I still feel like I need to improve on my anxiety so I want to do more rounds. My therapist, my parents, and my boyfriend have seen improvement (in my anxiety) compared to a year ago. It takes me a shorter time to become calm from being extremely anxious now. As we all know, mental health healing is a long term thing so I am looking forward to more rounds with my new guide Richard. I still need to do more work with myself. The integration circles helped me but I wish I was told to take advantage of them when I started in early June. The integration circles remind of an virtual ceremonial cacao circle I have attended several times. I am looking forward to more rounds and going deeper. When I first started, I had no idea what to expect but now I know more and am more experienced. I am thankful for my dad who told me about Mindbloom. I look forward to more exciting things with you guys!

The science and medicine are solid. This treatment is the only thing I have ever tried that gave me even brief moments of relief from depression. The process and guidance from Mindbloom is good, but many areas to improve.

The medicine itself is life changing, but there are a few things that could be improved about the treatment. First, choosing a guide before you've begun treatment, with no knowledge of their personality or communication style isn't great. You can always change guides, so it's not as though you're stuck, but the only time you speak to a guide IMMEDIATELY after the medicine is after your first session, so this person shapes the beginning of your journey. My first guide was not at all a good match (I felt like he wasn't listening to my particular issues at all, and wasn't invested in my progress. I was just another appointment in his calendar), and I wish I'd been working with the person I switched to from the beginning. Mindbloom could do more in the way of intake to recommend an appropriate guide, or maybe there could be more communication with the guide before the initial session. Second, the action guide is rigid and formulaic. You click through a series of items and actions in between ketamine sessions that are meant to guide your treatment and help you integrate the experience, but these actions are not specific to you as an individual. It would be like if instead of listening to you and figuring out a treatment plan based on your individual needs, your therapist just had you open an app each week and do a checklist item. Not very helpful, and frankly pretty cold. Third, don't expect the licensed clinician to be very involved in your treatment. The "guides" you communicate with regularly are mostly not therapists or psychologists, and Mindbloom's clinicians will only speak to you directly maybe twice. I love my guide -she is remarkably attentive and intuitive- but she's just another regular person like me or any one of my friends, who happens to have some experience taking psychedelics. She gives great feedback and advice, but not because she has a degree, certification, or counseling experience. You may not be as lucky as I have been - it's a crap shoot. I recommend having your own regular therapist who you have been working with for a while and who you can share these experiences with, before you even begin your Mindbloom journey. Don't rely on Mindbloom to help you interpret, integrate, or even necessarily prepare you for this experience. Ketamine treatment has been very helpful for me, but primarily because of the support systems I had in place well before I came to Mindbloom. You're basically paying for a typically very inexpensive drug, and for someone to text message you every few days. I'm not upset about it, and I might even continue with Mindbloom, but that's all it is.
